Engine Works Docs

The official guide to Machines, $WORKS, weight, 8H epochs, the two pots, and epoch distributions.

The short version

A machine economy

Engine Works is a machine economy for tokenized stocks.

Users own Machines. $WORKS powers those Machines. Protocol fees buy tokenized stocks, and the $WORKS paid to mint Machines is split in half: one half is burned, the other half is distributed. Every eight-hour epoch, active Machines receive a proportional share of both streams according to Machine weight.

01
Machine
The owned unit that participates in Engine Works production.
02
$WORKS
The token paid to mint a Machine and burned through Machine actions to build weight.
03
Weight
A Machine's proportional claim on an epoch distribution.
04
Epoch
One repeating eight-hour production cycle.

The mechanism

Engine Works combines three paths. The Machine path determines who receives what share. The capital path determines what the protocol can purchase. The Works path determines how much $WORKS leaves supply and how much returns to Machines. All three meet when an epoch settles.

Interface vocabulary

Reading the product

The product is organized like a mechanical operating system. Garage holds Machines. Dyno measures weight. Production shows the epoch. Reserve shows the Stock Pot and the Works Pot. Foundry shows distribution output. Activity records protocol events.

Reading documentation and public protocol state does not require a wallet. A wallet identifies the owner when an authorized onchain action is available.
